the icon on my log in has changed by itself

Question

the icon on my log in has changed by itself

when I bought the computer I have chosen a photo as the log in icon, and it has now changed on its own to a football. Is this normal? Could it be a bug? I do I change it back?

Try a PRAM reset:

Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the third time.
Release the keys.
